Dear DDE parents -
You are probably very eager to know whose classroom your child has been assigned to for the upcoming year. Well, you wait is almost over. Class lists will be posted on the front doors of the school at 5 pm on Thursday, August 24. Once you have that information in hand, you'll want to meet your child's teacher...right? Of course! For those of you who will be in my classroom this year, you may meet me in my new classroom (room 403) on Friday, August 25, between the hours of 1 pm to 3 pm. I am so excited to meet all of the kids, and get the new school year underway! See you soon! Mr. Campbell Here a few important dates for your calendar::
Come out to Chick-Fil-a this Thursday (12/8/16) from 5pm to 8pm for Family Spirit Night.
Our class spelling bee will be held on Wednesday, November 30. Click here to see the complete list of words that will be used during the classroom bee. Good luck kids!
Tomorrow (November 8), Davis Drive Elementary will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule. Please keep this in mind as you are prepping the kids for school. Bus routes will also be on a delay, so if your bus normally picks up at 7:00, you should see it around 9:00 tomorrow.
The tardy bell will ring promptly at 9:45, and my class will be immediately going to Specials. Please be on time...and parents, please don't forget to vote! In case you haven't heard, Davis Drive Elementary was just named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School. DDE is one of only three hundred twenty-nine schools nationwide to receive this prestigious honor, and one of just eight schools in North Carolina to make the list.
Kudos to the students, our dedicated parents (especially our amazing PTA), the DDE Administrative team, the DDE staff, and of course my wonderful colleagues that make up the DDE faculty. Well deserved! TC Tonight (9/22/16) is the Davis Drive Elementary PTA fundraiser at Ledo Pizza in Cary. Students were given certificates yesterday that allow a portion of the proceeds to be donated to the DDE PTA. Come out, enjoy some yummy pizza with the family, and support DDE all at the same time. Bon appetit!
Hello parents! If you are free on Thursday, September 15, from 5:30 until 6:15, please join me for our Open House night. You will get a chance to meet the other parents, learn more about the 4th grade curriculum, and perhaps take away a few tips on how you can help your child succeed in 4th grade.
I hope to see you there! TC Parents -
Your child will be bringing home information tomorrow regarding Chess Club. Participation is totally optional...but the meetings begin next week. So time is of the essence. TC My name is Mr. Campbell and I want to welcome you to my classroom's home on the web. Parents, please be sure to check back often for upcoming events, tips on how you can support your student as we traverse the 4th grade landscape together, homework updates, and links that have been specially chosen to help your student.
I look forward to working with each of you throughout the school year. And I thank you for checking out our website. |
